Wednesday 8 August, 7pm-9:30pm
Join us at the Star of Kings Pub for Late Lines, our regular night of spoken word featuring City Lit writers and special guests performing a mix of poetry and prose.
This event has a special focus. City Lit is often an early stop for writers on the road to success, and our alumni are a real source of inspiration for our current and recent students. We want to celebrate that so we’ve invited three published City Lit alumna to read from their work and explain a little about their writing journey since studying with us.
Poet Lesley Sharpe, co-founder of Lodestone Poets reading series, and MA Creative Writing candidate Nina Reece, will join you on stage alongside headline speaker, Alice Fitzgerald, who will read from her debut novel Her Mother’s Daughter and participate in a Q&A.
If you’re a City Lit student, we’d love for you to share your work at our next event. If you’re interested, please email [email protected] to apply. All genres, styles and levels of experience are very welcome.
Please make sure to apply in advance of the event so we can organise the programme in advance. When you apply, we may ask for a sample of the work you’d like to read, to ensure a variety of voices, perspectives and genres are covered throughout the evening.
This event will be held at the Star of Kings Pub, 126 York Way, London, N1 OAX.
